Transport Truck Driver

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Transport Truck Driver to operate straight‑through or articulated trucks on domestic and international routes. You will be responsible for safely delivering goods while optimizing routes to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer‑based navigation tools.
• Load, secure, and unload cargo, ensuring compliance with permits for cross‑border shipments.
• Operate Class 1 or Class A trucks, monitoring vehicle condition, tires, lights, brakes, and cold‑storage equipment.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections, including brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel usage.

Required profile

• Secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
• 2–3 years of professional driving experience.
• Valid Class 1 or Class A driver’s licence.
• Ability to obtain special permits for international cargo transport.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS navigation and computer‑based routing systems.
• Vehicle inspection and maintenance skills, including brake adjustment.
• Operation of cold‑storage and other specialised truck equipment.
