Transport Clerk – Day Shift

About the role

The Transport Clerk supports daily freight and parcel operations for GLS Canada, handling communications, data entry, and shipment tracking during daytime hours. This position works on‑site at the Vaughan hub and collaborates closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Field incoming phone calls and follow‑up inquiries.
• Process freight and parcel shipments, including data entry and system comments.
• Check drivers in and out and manage appointment bookings.
• Respond to customer service emails and trace shipments.
• Update problem shipments and maintain accurate records on shared drives.
• Utilize Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs) for daily tasks.
• Maintain clear communication with team members and external partners.
• Assist with parcel OS&D (over‑shorts and damages) handling.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork orientation with the ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
• Previous experience in transport, courier, or logistics preferred.
• Good typing and clerical abilities for accurate data entry.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
