Training Coordinator

About the role

Elk Valley Resources (EVR), a steelmaking coal producer in the Elk Valley of British Columbia, is hiring a Coordinator, Training. Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Training, the role develops, implements and delivers training programs and leads a team of trainers supporting Mine Operations. It follows a 4x4 schedule rotation of day and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, engage and coordinate a team of hourly trainers to run training aligned with Mine Operations priorities
• Develop and deliver Heavy Equipment Operation training, including hands-on, classroom, computer-based and field sessions
• Conduct equipment operator performance reviews and develop and modify standard practices and procedures
• Work with supervisors and departments to assess training needs, coordinate schedules and document activities
• Analyze training data to improve safety and operational efficiency, and complete ongoing training to stay current with regulations
• Deliver presentations at monthly safety meetings and build relationships with operations and maintenance teams

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in an industrial environment with exposure to heavy equipment
• Minimum three years of experience in training or mentoring others
• A valid Class 5 driver's licence
• Experience in open-pit mining or a similar environment is an asset

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong digital literacy, communication and organizational skills
