About the role
The District of Lake Country is seeking a Tourism Student to staff its mobile visitor centres across the Central Okanagan. This seasonal position provides welcoming, authentic service to visitors and locals while promoting local businesses, activities, and attractions.
Key responsibilities
- Greet and assist all visitors and residents at the mobile visitor centre.
- Determine visitor needs and deliver accurate information about products, services, and events.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and community knowledge.
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and other platforms.
- Operate and set up mobile visitor services equipment.
Required profile
- Minimum grade 11 and currently enrolled in secondary or post‑secondary education.
- Ability to safely lift and move boxes up to 30 lb.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clear driver’s abstract.
- Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for local attractions.
- Self‑motivated with strong organisational abilities and a collaborative attitude.

What we offer
- Hourly wage of $21.04 CAD plus 17.4 % in‑lieu of benefits.
- Up to 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, from June 22 to August 31, 2026.
