Term Clinical Instructor – Nursing Practice in Child Health

About the role

The University of British Columbia Okanagan School of Nursing is hiring a Term Clinical Instructor to support the NRSG_O 339 Nursing Practice in Child Health course. The appointment runs from October 19 to December 9, 2026, with clinical days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate clinical rotations for groups of eight nursing students on the 4South pediatric unit at Kelowna General Hospital.
• Lead simulation learning experiences in the UBC Okanagan simulation laboratory.
• Provide orientation and mentorship to students, ensuring safe, ethical, evidence‑informed nursing care.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and university faculty to align student learning objectives with clinical practice.
• Participate in lab reviews and maintain communication with the Team Leader and Assistant Director regarding student performance.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current licensure in British Columbia.
• Recent clinical practice experience in pediatric or child health settings.
• Demonstrated ability to teach or mentor nursing students.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within interdisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Clinical teaching and supervision.
• Simulation lab facilitation.
• Knowledge of pediatric nursing practice.
