Temporary Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care

About the role

The Southern Health‑Santé Sud team is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the multi‑disciplinary primary‑care team at Boyne Lodge Personal Care Home. This temporary, part‑time position (0.60 FTE) offers a rewarding opportunity to provide autonomous clinical care to residents in a supportive, community‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patient health issues autonomously.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform minor invasive procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to develop and evaluate complex care plans.
• Educate staff, patients, and families on health promotion and disease prevention.
• Support problem‑solving and system‑level improvements within the care home.

Required profile

• Active registration on the RN Extended Practice (EP) Register of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
• Minimum two years of clinical nursing or community‑health experience (preferred).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, and prioritize workload.
