Temporary Full-Time Educational Assistant (30 hrs/week)

About the role

This temporary, full‑time position supports students in Grades 7‑12 at Sexsmith Secondary School. Working under the supervision of a certificated teacher, you will assist with personal care, behavior management and classroom activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to students with diverse needs.
• Assist the teacher in managing complex behaviours and maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Support classroom organization, preparation of materials, and student engagement.
• Collaborate with multiple staff members across grades 7‑12.
• Participate in meetings and documentation as required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Educational Assistant Diploma preferred).
• Experience working with children in a classroom or organized setting is an asset.
• Flexibility to work outside regular school hours when needed.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and assist with personal care.
• Team‑oriented attitude and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
