Technology Lead – Optical SME

About the role

Infosys is seeking a Technology Lead – Optical SME to drive the design and development of next‑generation optical line systems. The role focuses on DWDM, ROADM, and related optical technologies, supporting clients across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Define detailed software requirements and system architecture for optical line products.
• Collaborate with software architects and designers to translate high‑level product goals into implementation plans.
• Lead technical discussions on optical standards, embedded system design, and integration.
• Participate in Agile Scrum teams, potentially acting as Product Owner.
• Travel within Canada as required to support project sites and customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in the telecom/optical industry.
• Located within commuting distance of Ottawa or willing to relocate to Ontario.
• Authorized to work in Canada without employer‑based visa sponsorship.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work long periods at a computer.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of optical standards for DWDM and line systems.
• Experience with DWDM, ROADM, optical amplifiers, Raman, OTDR, DGE.
• Architecture and design of optical/telecom embedded systems.
• Hands‑on experience with operating systems, object‑oriented design, and C++.
• Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and AI concepts.
