Technical Specialist - Assistant Coach Rowing

About the role

The Technical Specialist – Assistant Coach will work under the Head Coach of McGill's rowing team to support the performance and development of student‑athletes. This part‑time, fixed‑term position focuses on equipment management, data tracking, and assisting with coaching strategies during the 2026 season.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute team equipment, including boats and oars.
• Prepare practice and training equipment before sessions.
• Record activities, track statistics, and analyze data during competitions.
• Prepare performance reports for the Head Coach.
• Support implementation of practice and race strategies.
• Assist with the delivery of the 2026 CURA’s at the Olympic Basin.
• Perform additional administrative tasks as required.

Required profile

• Practical knowledge or experience in the sport of rowing.
• Level II NCCP certification or equivalent.
• Prior coaching experience at an elite or competitive level.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends.
• CPR and First Aid certifications highly recommended.
• Bilingual in English and French.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
