Technical Specialist - Assistant Coach Martlet Hockey

About the role

The Technical Specialist will support the Martlets hockey program by providing analytical, technical, and operational assistance to the coaching staff. Working under the direction of the immediate supervisor, you will help drive performance and athlete development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Review video footage from games and practices to identify trends, strengths, and improvement areas.
• Prepare pre‑scout reports on opponents, highlighting player and team tendencies.
• Assist in planning and executing practices, games, and athlete development activities.
• Record game activities, maintain statistical databases, and generate performance reports.
• Organize, maintain, and distribute team equipment for practices and games.
• Support gameday and practice operations to ensure a high‑performance environment.
• Provide technical and administrative support related to athlete performance and team logistics.

Required profile

• Knowledge of high‑performance hockey and practical experience in the sport.
• Demonstrated coaching, technical, video‑analysis, or athlete‑development experience in hockey.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, dependable, punctual, and team‑oriented.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced setting.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Must pass a criminal background check and complete Safe Sport and anti‑doping training.

Required skills

• Familiarity with performance analysis tools.
