Technical Marketing Manager – Herbicides (Calgary)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Marketing Manager – Herbicides to join BASF’s Agricultural Solutions team in Calgary. The role leads all technical elements of assigned herbicide products, including labeling, technical editing, product‑use direction, training materials, recommendations and technical positioning, and also oversees APA training and large‑herbicide claim resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage technical information for marketing, including external trial budgets, large‑scale testing and global research targets.
• Shape sustainable product positioning, labeling and business‑plan recommendations to protect market share.
• Build influencer advocacy, support media and public‑relations activities, and differentiate products.
• Deliver technical training and product‑inquiry support to Technical Service Representatives, enhancing sales team capability.
• Create technical content for sales and marketing using field and university research data.
• Lead strategic projects, provide market insight and contribute to product‑development and commercialization strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (advanced science degree preferred) with 8+ years of experience in sales, technical services, research or related functions.
• Proven ability to recommend product positioning based on data analysis and customer needs.
• Experience in the agriculture industry, working with growers, distributors, universities or consultants is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and a passion for making a positive impact in agriculture.
