Team Leader – Rail Operations

About the role

American Iron & Metal is seeking a proactive Team Leader to manage on‑site rail operations at its Montréal‑East facility. This full‑time, permanent position runs Monday to Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and focuses on safe, efficient railcar loading and coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, guide and motivate the rail operations team on a daily basis.
• Enforce occupational health and safety policies and railway regulations.
• Plan and oversee the use and maintenance of equipment, PPE and machinery used for railcar loading.
• Collaborate with the shuttle train operator to position railcars safely and efficiently.
• Support the foreman with administrative and operational follow‑ups related to rail production.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of team‑management experience in an operational setting.
• At least 3 years of experience in an industrial or production environment operating heavy equipment.
• Fluent in French with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and maintain excellent physical condition.
• Experience in a railway environment and knowledge of systems, infrastructure or rolling stock is a strong asset.
