Teacher (Probationary/Continuing) – Grade 1

About the role

Parkland School Division is seeking a dedicated Grade 1 teacher for the Prescott Learning Centre in Spruce Grove. This probationary/continuing position offers the opportunity to support young learners in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create, deliver, and assess programming that develops academic, social, emotional, and personal management skills.
• Design learning experiences that meet individual student needs and facilitate integration into a typical classroom.
• Collaborate with school staff, support teams, and community agencies to ensure effective supervision and monitoring.
• Support families in addressing learning‑related needs and maintain consistent routines and expectations.

Required profile

• Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and student well‑being.
• Ability to work under the principal’s supervision, both one‑on‑one and in small groups or whole‑class settings.
• Experience or willingness to work with special‑needs students and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated competence with Alberta Education standards and curriculum differentiation.
