Tax Manager – Canadian & U.S. Tax

About the role

Our client, a boutique public accounting firm in North York, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead complex Canadian and U.S. tax engagements. You will work directly with senior tax specialists, mentor junior staff, and build lasting relationships with owner‑managed businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Canadian and U.S. tax returns, including personal and corporate filings.
• Lead and review complex cross‑border tax engagements.
• Respond to CRA and IRS correspondence on behalf of clients.
• Assist with tax planning and advisory projects.
• Prepare Canadian financial statements.
• Mentor and review the work of junior team members.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• 4–6+ years of public accounting experience.
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing U.S. personal tax returns (required).
• Experience with Canadian corporate and personal tax compliance.
• Exposure to U.S. corporate tax is an asset.
• CPA designation preferred or working toward it.
• Excellent client service and communication skills.
• Enjoys mentoring and taking on increasing responsibility.
