Tax Manager – Canadian Corporate Tax

About the role

We are looking for a Tax Manager to lead Canadian corporate tax compliance, reporting and planning for a fast‑growing finance team in the renewable energy sector. The role offers a dynamic, project‑driven environment with about 30 % travel, including periodic visits to the U.S. headquarters in San Diego.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Canadian corporate income tax compliance, filings and reporting.
• Prepare and review tax provisions and supporting schedules.
• Partner with finance, accounting and operations to ensure adherence to federal and provincial tax regulations.
• Support tax planning initiatives and identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Research and interpret tax legislation and assess its business impact.
• Coordinate with external advisors, auditors and tax authorities.
• Assist with audits, tax examinations and government inquiries.
• Administer renewable energy tax credit programs and other industry‑specific incentives.
• Utilize reporting and analytical tools to monitor tax data and compliance.
• Participate in special projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 5 + years of Canadian corporate tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax compliance and reporting requirements.
• Experience in renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure or similar project‑based industries is a plus.
• Fluency in both French and English.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
