Tax Accounting Specialist

About the role

ABB is seeking a Tax Accounting Specialist to support its global tax function. You will work with finance teams across legal entities, ensuring tax data is accurate, compliant, and efficiently processed. This role offers the chance to influence tax workflows and contribute to continuous improvement in a dynamic, multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise information requests for tax processes and support tax audit inquiries.
• Extract, manipulate, and standardize financial data to meet tax requirements.
• Develop and maintain templates and tools for all ABB legal entities.
• Understand application functionality from a user perspective to enhance tax processes.
• Identify recurring issues, collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them, and document internal procedures.
• Contribute ideas to improve operational tax workflows, user experience, and support processes.
• Escalate issues with significant efficiency or tax impact, providing thorough documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA designation is an asset).
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably with tax provision work under US GAAP.
• Advanced tax training or equivalent coursework is a plus.
• Fluency in French and English is mandatory.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to build professional relationships.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (financial modeling, automation, VBA).
• Power BI, Power Query, Tableau.
• SQL or other data‑extraction tools.
• ERP systems: SAP S/4HANA, HFM, Abacus.
• Tax software: Taxprep, OneSource, Longview Tax.
• Understanding of internal controls (SOX 404) and data governance.
