Supply Chain Specialist

About the role

Adamson Systems Engineering is seeking an experienced, self‑motivated Supply Chain Specialist to support purchasing, inventory planning, and supplier coordination in a lean manufacturing environment. You will use ERP/MRP systems to maintain material availability, improve lead times, and keep production schedules on track.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders and the full procurement cycle in the ERP system.
• Plan material purchases based on production schedules and inventory needs.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for cost, quality, and reliability.
• Follow up on deliveries and resolve supplier or logistics issues.
• Maintain accurate item, vendor, and purchasing data in the ERP system.
• Review purchasing data and KPIs to reduce costs and improve supply chain performance.
• Support invoice matching, PO reconciliation, and cost tracking with Finance.
• Prepare weekly reports for management.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and inventory teams to ensure material availability.
• Identify and help resolve supply risks, shortages, and overstock concerns.
• Perform hands‑on cycle counts and physical inventory checks as needed.
• Collaborate on BOM changes, material requirements, and priorities.
• Participate in planning meetings and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• College or university degree/diploma in a related field.
• 3–5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing ERP environment.
• Experience with MRP, production scheduling, and supplier negotiations.
• Strong communication, organization, and negotiation abilities.

Required skills

• ERP systems such as ECI M1, SAP, MS Dynamics GP, NetSuite, Epicor, Sage.
• MRP and production scheduling tools.
• Supplier negotiation and procurement processes.
• Supply chain analytics (asset).
