Supply Chain Engineer – Marine & Ports

About the role

ABB is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer to support its Marine & Ports business. The role works closely with procurement, operations, quality and project teams to ensure supplier performance, quality standards and delivery expectations are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality activities and validate supplier processes and quality systems.
• Monitor and manage supplier performance, including quality, delivery and lead‑time metrics.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions for supplier‑related issues and non‑conformance events.
• Partner with sourcing teams to identify, qualify and onboard new suppliers.
• Support bid and proposal teams with sourcing activities and market insights.
• Analyze supplier bids and recommend optimal sourcing solutions.
• Lead supply‑chain improvement projects focused on efficiency and process optimisation.
• Support supplier assessments and ensure compliance with ABB standards.
• Collaborate with buyers and cross‑functional teams on supplier performance and claim resolution.
• Assist local operations and service teams in mitigating supplier performance issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, supplier quality, sourcing or engineering environments.
• Experience in the Marine, Ports or Electrical Engineering industries.
• Proven supplier relationship management and development experience.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and build relationships across teams.
• Self‑driven with a strong sense of ownership and problem‑solving mindset.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Lean Six Sigma (certification preferred).
• SAP experience.
