Student Transportation Driver

About the role

Under the direction of the Education Director, the Student Transportation Driver will provide clean, safe, and reliable transportation for Biigtigong Nishnaabeg community youth attending Marathon High School. The service primarily supports secondary students participating in extracurricular activities and school‑related programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily transportation for secondary school students Monday‑Thursday evenings, or as needed.
• Be available for evening transportation to and from extracurricular or school‑related activities.
• Coordinate with school and education staff to ensure timely pickups and drop‑offs.
• Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts or restraints at all times in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.
• Verify that any passenger under sixteen has written consent to use the service.
• Maintain the daily log and vehicle check.
• Obey all road rules, speed limits, and safety regulations; fines and infractions are the driver’s responsibility.
• Clean the student transportation vehicle after each use.

Required profile

• Valid Class G Ontario driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Ability to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Strong time‑management and communication skills.
• Reliability, punctuality, and flexibility to work evening hours.
• Experience working with youth.
• Comfortable driving in all weather conditions.
