Student Project Assistant – Gertrude Whitley Performance Library

About the role

This part‑time position supports the Gertrude Whitley Performance Library during its peak period. The Student Project Assistant will help prepare scores and parts for students and faculty, ensuring materials are ready for use.

Key responsibilities

• Print, bind, and label music scores and parts.
• Prepare and organise materials for distribution to students.
• Conduct bibliographic searches and assist with cataloguing tasks.
• Check for duplicate items, apply provenance labels, and manage barcoding.
• Handle, shift, and organise library collections as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or equivalent) with minimal related experience.
• Strong knowledge of music repertoire, especially large‑ensemble works.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
• Physical ability to lift and move library materials.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; reading French is required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of music scores and library handling procedures.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $16.70 CAD.
• Up to 12 hours per week from late August to late November.
