Student Library Shelving Assistant

About the role
The County of Lambton is seeking a motivated student to support its library network by shelving and organizing collections. This part‑time position offers hands‑on experience in a public library environment while contributing to community services.
Key responsibilities
- Shelve books and other materials according to the Dewey Decimal system.
- Maintain tidy and orderly shelves throughout the library.
- Assist staff with locating items to fulfill patron requests.
- Help process new collections and prepare materials for programs.
- Support the set‑up and delivery of library programs when needed.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in a high school or post‑secondary program, or participating in an employment initiative for individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks required by the role, as outlined in the Physical Demands Analysis.
Required skills
What we offer
- Hourly wage ranging from $16.60 to $17.60 (CAD).
- Flexible schedule of approximately 9 hours per week.
- Opportunity to gain experience in library services and community programming.
