Student Affairs Coordinator

About the role

The Student Affairs Coordinator provides essential administrative support to the Departments of Music Research and Performance at McGill University. Working under the Administrative Officer, the role assists students, faculty, and staff with scheduling, examinations, and day‑to‑day student services.

Key responsibilities

• Organise class schedules, practical instruction sessions, and examinations, including room allocation and material preparation.
• Manage course enrollment capacities, prerequisites, and registration processes.
• Coordinate performance production needs, venue requirements, and instrument tuning.
• Serve as a resource on policy and procedure for course and program changes, liaising with campus departments.
• Provide detailed information about music programs to students and assist with proposals for new courses or revisions.
• Prepare reports on scholarships, registration statistics, and other student‑service metrics.
• Deliver secretarial support to department chairs, including agenda management, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
• Perform Workday tasks related to employment processes and course evaluations.

Required profile

• Experience in administrative support within an academic environment.
• Strong knowledge of academic policies and student‑affairs procedures.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities, resolve issues, and communicate effectively with students and faculty.
