Store Design & Construction Project Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a Store Design & Construction Project Coordinator to support store openings, renovations and maintenance across our retail network in Toronto. The role works closely with designers, contractors and internal merchandising and operations teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with external designers and internal merchandising/operations teams to develop and update fixture layout plans.
• Evaluate proposals and select general contractors and architects based on scope, cost, timeline, and qualifications.
• Review and approve detailed construction plans, schedules, permitting processes and deliverables from contractors.
• Maintain store drawing databases, manage project documentation and ensure compliance with Miniso global standards.
• Support the Legal team during lease setup by defining construction criteria and technical requirements.
• Travel to store locations to supervise fixture installations, guide contractors and conduct final inspections.
• Coordinate maintenance requests, oversee renovation and image upgrade projects from design through execution.
• Manage project‑related payment submissions and internal financial processes.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations and jurisdictional requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in construction, store development or project coordination (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to multiple store sites.
• Strong knowledge of architectural, engineering and construction standards.
• Formal project‑management training; architectural or PM certification is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SketchUp or similar design software.
• Strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite.
