Store Associate – Retail Sales & Customer Service

About the role

The Store Associate supports Sherwin‑Williams retail operations by assisting wholesale and retail customers, answering product questions, and recommending solutions. The role ensures high customer satisfaction, maintains visual standards, and helps the store meet its sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent sales service to achieve high customer satisfaction.
• Assist customers in person and by phone, determine needs and present appropriate products.
• Build trust relationships with wholesale and retail clients.
• Process sales transactions accurately following company policies.
• Meet monthly, quarterly and yearly sales goals.
• Maintain precise work order files and product formulas.
• Retrieve and stock products from the sales floor or warehouse.
• Tint and mix paint to customer specifications.
• Stock shelves, set up displays and keep the store clean.
• Load and unload delivery trucks and assist with deliveries as needed.
• Ensure assigned areas are well‑stocked and presentable.
• Stay knowledgeable about product features and inventory control procedures.
• Suggest improvements to increase sales.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s licence.
• Ability to lift 50 lb frequently and up to 70 lb occasionally.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in retail, delivery or customer‑service role.
• Previous experience selling paint or related products is preferred.
• Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in more than one language.
