Stocktaking Counter – DND

About the role

The Stocktaking Counter supports Department of National Defence (DND) facilities by performing physical inventory counts, verifying assets, and ensuring accurate warehouse documentation. This full‑time position is based in Ottawa and involves hands‑on work in a warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical inventory counts and record quantities, serial numbers, and batch information.
• Verify manufacturer part numbers, inventory details, and condition tags.
• Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged or expired materials.
• Conduct recounts and verify shelf‑life information when applicable.
• Affix inventory labels and barcodes, and complete count sheets with supporting documentation.
• Return inventory to designated locations and support overall warehouse inventory activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months of inventory counting or stocktaking experience within the past 5 years.
• Eligibility for Reliability Status and/or Secret Clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 kg, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 15 m.
• Capability to stand or walk for extended periods in warehouse and outdoor settings.
• Willingness to travel for extended assignments.
