About the role
JMT Consultants Inc. in Winnipeg is seeking an experienced Steel Detailing Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel projects. The role involves collaborating with internal teams, clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project success.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed budgetary and final estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel scopes of work.
- Perform precise material, labor, and time take‑offs using blueprints, specifications, and other project documents.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects to ensure accuracy throughout the estimating process.
- Support project managers with cost and schedule information during handovers and maintain historical cost data.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating steel detailing, structural, or miscellaneous steel projects.
- Diploma or degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Tekla PowerFab or FabSuite.
