Standardized Patient for Nursing Simulations

About the role

The Ingram School of Nursing at McGill University is seeking Standardized Patients to support nursing education through realistic patient simulations. You will portray patients, family members, or other characters in scripted scenarios, helping students develop clinical and communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately and consistently reenact patient histories and behaviors for each scenario.
• Provide directed, constructive feedback to students after simulations.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the School’s policies at all times.
• Collaborate with faculty to prepare and refine scenario materials.
• Adapt to flexible and variable work schedules, including video‑production sessions.

Required profile

• High School Diploma with at least one year of experience in the dramatic arts.
• Strong communication skills; bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
• Ability to work professionally with sensitive topics and follow detailed instructions.
• Open, constructive speaking style and capacity for autonomous preparation.
• Indigenous ancestry is sought for specific scenarios where lived experience is essential.

• Hourly compensation: $22.03 CAD for performance roles, $28.53 CAD for video‑production work.
• Part‑time, fixed‑term contract (Feb 2026 – May 2027) with flexible hours.
