Staff Engineer, AI Security

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to lead the design, implementation and operation of security controls for AI, generative AI, machine-learning and related cloud services. Reporting to the Senior Director of Cyber Security Engineering, you will act as the embedded security partner for the AI Centre of Enablement and the Enterprise Technology, Data & AI organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate security controls for AI platforms, generative AI solutions, AI agents and supporting cloud services.
• Partner with AI engineering, data engineering and technology teams to embed security requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Build and automate AI security guardrails and policy enforcement for enterprise copilots, coding assistants and third‑party AI services.
• Develop reusable security patterns, standards and technical guidance for secure AI adoption.
• Perform adversarial testing, support remediation of security weaknesses and create monitoring and detection capabilities for AI‑related events.

Required profile

• College diploma or university degree in computer science, engineering, information security or a related field.
• 7‑9 years of experience in cyber security, software or cloud engineering, including at least 4 years in a security role.
• Deep expertise in AI and cloud security controls, able to serve as the internal subject‑matter expert.
• Strong understanding of AI‑specific risks such as prompt injection, data poisoning and supply‑chain threats.

• CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, containers and cloud‑native technologies.
• Security frameworks: NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, OWASP Top 10 for LLM applications, MITRE ATLAS, NIST CSF, CIS Controls.
