Specialized Laborer – Civil & Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Join Pomerleau Construction’s Civil and Infrastructure team as a Specialized Laborer. You will work on large‑scale building and infrastructure projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion, supporting crews to ensure smooth site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist specialized crews with site work, concrete pours, and material handling.
• Supply the worksite, level and clear areas, load and unload various materials.
• Support sewer and water‑main installation teams.
• Operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, screwdrivers, drills, jackhammers and compactors.
• With proper training and a valid card, operate forklifts, aerial work platforms and other motorized equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with company and industry standards.
• Maintain a collaborative work environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and other trades.
• Care for and maintain small tools and site equipment.
• Perform other related operational tasks as required.

Required profile

• Valid CCQ occupancy card.
• 2015 ASP Construction & WHMIS certification.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar laborer position.

Required skills

• Hand truck operation.
• Shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows.
• Screwdrivers and drills.
• Jackhammer usage.
• Compactor operation.
• Forklift operation (with training and card).
• Aerial work platform operation (with training and card).
