About the role
We are seeking a Specialist Chef to lead our kitchen operations at our restaurant in Surrey, BC. The role combines menu creation, cost management, and staff supervision to deliver high‑quality dishes for everyday service and special events.
Key responsibilities
- Estimate quantities and costs of supplies and food items, as well as labour expenses.
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
- Analyze operating costs and other data to improve profitability.
- Create new recipes and plan menus that meet quality standards.
- Instruct, train, and supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
- Consult with clients on weddings, banquets, and specialty functions.
- Ensure food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation meet company standards.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- 2–3 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.
