Sour Gas Plant Operator – 1 Year Contract (14/14 Rotational)

About the role

Our client, a major oil and gas company, is seeking a Sour Gas Plant Operator for a 1‑year contract on a 14‑day on/14‑day off rotational schedule. The role involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining sour gas plant equipment while ensuring strict safety and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain sour gas plant equipment, including compressors, pumps, valves and instrumentation.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs and lockout procedures on plant assets.
• Respond to emergencies, provide on‑call coverage and ensure proper use of respiratory protective equipment.
• Maintain facility records, update drawings and document work in maintenance software.
• Collaborate with supervisors, planners, electricians, contractors and PLM teams to plan and execute work.
• Supervise contract personnel and act as subject‑matter expert for the assigned area.

Required profile

• Minimum Fourth Class Power Engineer Ticket.
• At least 5 years of experience in industrial field, specifically sour gas plant operations.
• Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG and First Aid certificates (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Strong verbal and written communication and above‑average analytical abilities.
