Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. The role is remote, with travel to various project sites, and includes on‑the‑job training on specialized mud‑system equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in rigging up and rigging down solids control equipment on 12‑hour rotational shifts (14 days on, 7 days off).
• Operate shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying equipment, pumps and other mud‑system hardware.
• Perform fluid analysis (weight, viscosity, retort) and support air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering and other solids control services.
• Carry out routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery and pressure‑washing tools safely under supervision.
• Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to all safety protocols, including daily safety meetings and PPE use.
• Complete daily PJRA/JSA, inspection reports, observation reports and checklists.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour swing rotations and travel to remote locations across Canada.
• Ability to work 14 days on / 7 days off schedule; overtime may be required.
• Safety‑sensitive mindset with a commitment to follow all safety procedures.
• Motivation to learn rigging, equipment operation and basic electrical principles.
