Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. You will receive on‑the‑job training to operate specialized mud‑system equipment, work 12‑hour shifts on a 14‑days‑on/7‑days‑off rotational schedule, and travel to remote field sites.

Key responsibilities

• Work 12‑hour swing shifts (day or night) on a 14‑on/7‑off rotation.
• Travel to remote locations throughout Canada and be assigned to one or multiple projects.
• Rig up and rig down solids‑control equipment such as shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying units and pumps.
• Perform drilling‑fluid analysis (weight, funnel viscosity, retort analysis) and record results.
• Execute solids‑control services including air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, floc water handling, fluid transfers, low‑gravity solids recovery, and cuttings drying.
• Carry out routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery safely under supervision.
• Maintain a clean work environment using pressure‑washing equipment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete PJRA/JSA, inspection and observation reports.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts on a 14‑on/7‑off schedule.
• Ability to travel domestically to remote sites across Canada.
• Readiness to shadow experienced technicians and learn rigging, equipment operation, and basic environmental and electrical principles.
• Commitment to safety protocols and proper PPE use.
