Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. You will receive on‑the‑job training on a range of specialized solids‑control equipment and work 12‑hour rotational shifts on remote project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Rig up and rig down solids‑control equipment such as shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying units and pumps.
• Operate and monitor drilling fluid properties (weight, funnel viscosity, retort analysis) and perform fluid analysis.
• Execute solids‑control services including air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, floc water handling, fluid transfers, low‑gravity solids removal, and cuttings drying.
• Perform routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery safely under supervision.
• Maintain a clean work environment using pressure‑washing equipment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete PJRA/JSA, inspection reports, and checklists.
• Travel domestically to remote locations and adhere to a 14‑days‑on/7‑days‑off schedule.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour swing rotations (day or night) and a 14‑day on/7‑day off roster.
• Ability to travel across Canada to remote job sites.
• Safety‑sensitive mindset with commitment to PPE and safety protocols.
• Openness to learn rigging, equipment operation, fluid analysis, and basic electrical principles.
