Software Frontend UI Engineer – Toronto

About the role

Fitch Ratings is looking for a Software Frontend UI Engineer to join its Ratings Technology team in Toronto. You will build and maintain mission‑critical full‑stack applications that power the agency’s analytical workflow, working with modern cloud and web technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable micro‑frontend (MFE) applications using ReactJS, TypeScript/JavaScript, Vue.js and Redux.
• Write clean, maintainable code and implement CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, deploying to Kubernetes.
• Integrate backend services built in Java and Python and work with data stores such as PostgreSQL, Oracle and MongoDB.
• Collaborate with product managers, analysts and other engineers to translate requirements into reliable solutions.
• Apply SOLID principles, design patterns and conduct code reviews to ensure high code quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimise performance and contribute to system reliability at scale.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience building enterprise‑grade web applications.
• Strong foundation in object‑oriented programming, algorithms, data structures and software design.
• Proven ability to lead frontend development using React and related libraries.
• Experience with micro‑frontend architecture and modern cloud environments.
