Software Engineer (Remote, Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a remote Software Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, working 10‑40 hours per week. You will design, build, and maintain scalable back‑end and full‑stack applications while collaborating with cross‑functional teammates.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable back‑end and full‑stack applications using languages such as Python, Rust, Go, Java, or Node.js.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver high‑quality software that meets evolving business needs.
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code following best engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing codebases to improve performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural planning to drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment.

Required profile

• Strong experience in software development with one or more of the listed languages or platforms.
• Proven ability to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems.
• Experience working remotely in collaborative, agile environments.
• Familiarity with modern development tools, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
