Software Engineer – Full Stack (Java, Python, Angular)

About the role

Providius is seeking a Software Engineer to join its development team in Hamilton, Ontario. You will work across the entire platform, from backend services to user‑facing interfaces, building reliable, scalable, and high‑performance systems for the media and entertainment industry.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship end‑to‑end features, from concept through deployment.
• Work across the stack as needed, including Java/Spring Boot services, Python components, C/C++ modules, and Angular front‑ends.
• Create and maintain comprehensive testing strategies (unit, integration, mocks, simulation environments).
• Collaborate with teammates to break down problems, define requirements, and iterate on solutions.
• Improve development workflows, tooling, and engineering practices.
• Debug and resolve issues in production environments.
• Continuously build domain knowledge in media and networking systems.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong computer‑science fundamentals and ability to turn ambiguous problems into maintainable solutions.
• Comfortable working across backend, frontend, testing, or infrastructure.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
