Software Developer – Subsurface Information Management

About the role

Seequent is looking for a Software Developer to join the Subsurface Information Management team. You will help design, build and release high‑performance platform services and APIs that enable advanced analytics, data science and AI workflows for geoscience data.

Key responsibilities

• Create and document detailed software designs, applying modelling techniques, standards and security patterns.
• Develop, test, document and refactor code for applications and components, following agreed standards and security practices.
• Assist with release management tasks, including planning, preparing release materials and supporting quality‑assurance activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Ability to work independently under general direction and collaborate within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, SQL and JSON.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of enterprise‑scale data solutions, relational and NoSQL storage.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Experience with containerisation tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
