Software Developer Intern – AI‑augmented Applications

About the role

Join SAP’s global Internship Experience Program as a Software Developer Intern in Montreal. You will work on AI‑augmented applications, integrating generative AI capabilities into SAP products while gaining full‑stack development experience.

Key responsibilities

• Build AI‑augmented applications using SAP AI Core, BTP AI services, or equivalent.
• Develop full‑stack features with SAPUI5, UI5 Web Components, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, and RESTful APIs.
• Design and implement back‑end services in object‑oriented languages, focusing on scalability, security, and observability.
• Leverage AI coding assistants daily and evaluate their output critically.
• Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests, including prompt‑level tests for AI features.
• Participate in code reviews emphasizing quality, maintainability, and responsible AI usage.
• Design database schemas, write optimized SQL queries, and support data pipelines for machine‑learning models.
• Troubleshoot and debug across the full stack, including non‑deterministic AI components.
• Document technical designs, AI model decisions, and architectural trade‑offs.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging AI tooling, foundation models, and enterprise software trends.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong grasp of programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work both independently and in a team.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); French is a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
