About the role

The City of Winnipeg is seeking a skilled Software Developer to join the Innovation & Technology team within the Public Works – Data and Applications Branch. This permanent, full‑time position offers the flexibility to work remotely while being anchored to a designated work location.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, implement, and maintain software systems that support municipal services.
• Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and end‑users to translate requirements into functional applications.
• Perform code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Maintain documentation and support ongoing system enhancements.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to delivering reliable, secure, and user‑friendly software solutions.
