SOC Tier 1 Analyst

About the role

MNP’s Managed Security Services team is looking for a SOC Tier 1 Analyst to join a group of tech‑savvy problem solvers. In this role you will monitor security alerts, perform initial triage, and support clients in defending against cyber threats while gaining hands‑on experience with leading security platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor alerts across Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR.
• Execute initial triage and analysis using predefined playbooks and SOPs.
• Write and run basic Kusto Query Language (KQL) queries in Sentinel to gather event context.
• Collaborate with clients and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Investigate tickets from start to resolution and document all steps in the ticketing system.
• Escalate high‑severity incidents to Tier 2 analysts with clear, concise information.
• Maintain awareness of the current cyber‑threat landscape and client security posture.
• Participate in shift handovers to ensure seamless continuity.

Required profile

• Fundamental understanding of core cybersecurity principles, common threats, and security controls.
• Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) concepts.
• Ability to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
