Skilled Wood Production Worker

About the role

Bond Industries, a subsidiary of AWP, is seeking reliable and skilled wood production workers to join its Millwork department in Surrey, BC. The role involves skilled labour, material handling, tool work and assembly duties for custom retail fixtures, reporting to the Millwork Production Manager. The position is full‑time with a shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday‑Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and set up machines and tooling for woodwork manufacturing.
• Operate woodworking machines—including saws, milling and sanding—safely and efficiently.
• Ensure products meet project specifications and make adjustments as necessary.
• Perform general labour tasks such as clean‑up and material handling.
• Read and interpret basic drawings or production instructions.
• Assemble products according to specifications.
• Maintain quality, safety and productivity standards.
• Lift and move materials up to 50 lb (23 kg) as required.
• Keep the work area clean, safe and organized.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Post‑secondary training or apprenticeship hours in carpentry.
• 3–5 years of experience in woodworking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb (23 kg).
• Positive attitude and team‑first mindset.
• Ability to follow instructions, stay focused and work under pressure.
• Detail‑oriented with basic math and problem‑solving skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Woodworking machine operation (saws, milling, sanding).
• Machine setup and tooling preparation.
• Interpretation of technical drawings and production instructions.
