Skilled Ground Worker – Fort Hills Mining Site

About the role

Join NACG as a Skilled Ground Worker on the Fort Hills remote mining site near Fort McMurray. You will work a 14‑day on / 7‑day off rotation, with 12 paid hours each day and overtime opportunities. The position offers a safe environment, competitive pay and room for career growth.

Key responsibilities

• Snow removal around shop and front parking lot (seasonal).
• Driving light vehicles within the mine.
• Installing culverts and pipes.
• Operating plate tampers and other hand tools.
• Moving light plants/heaters and installing silt fence, filter cloth, and geogrid.
• Ensuring compliance with all company, client and legislative safety policies.
• Reviewing safe work plans and hazard assessments before starting tasks.

Required profile

• At least 2 years experience in a labourer role.
• Minimum 1 year of mine experience.
• Physically fit and able to lift 50 lb repeatedly.
• Safety‑first attitude with strong listening skills.
• High school diploma or GED (post‑secondary education considered an asset).
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

What we offer

• Combined pay rate up to $36.74 CAD per hour.
• 14 × 7 schedule with 12 paid hours per day.
• Overtime after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week, up to 61 hours per rotation.
• Night‑shift premium of $1.20 per hour.
