Skilled Carpenter – Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a skilled carpenter to join our construction teams across various sites in Winnipeg. The role involves delivering high‑quality wood and lightweight‑steel work on residential and commercial projects while adhering to safety and building‑code standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine material and layout requirements.
• Prepare site layouts in compliance with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel components.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and related hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate on‑site work, ensuring timely progress.
• Maintain a clean, safe, dusty work environment and use required personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• 2–3 years of carpentry experience in construction.
• Physically able to stand, walk, lift heavy loads and perform demanding tasks.
• Accurate, reliable, punctual and a strong team player with good oral communication.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Proficiency with measuring tools.
• Wood cutting, shaping and joining.
• Installation of windows, doors, stairs and mouldings.
• Use of hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of building codes.
