Site Superintendent – Residential Construction (Calgary)

About the role

Our client, a leading low‑rise residential developer in Calgary, is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee the construction of single‑family homes and stacked townhomes. You will manage daily site activities, ensure safety compliance, and deliver high‑quality homes on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, coordinating pre‑construction readiness, inspections, and permits.
• Oversee day‑to‑day site operations, resolve delays or conflicts, and monitor progress against budget and timeline.
• Conduct final inspections to verify homes meet quality standards before hand‑over.
• Enforce the company’s safety program through regular inspections, safety meetings, and training.
• Schedule, coordinate, and inspect subcontractor work, approving completed tasks before payment processing.
• Manage material deliveries, verify quantities and quality, and ensure proper storage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, hazard‑free work environment and address construction defects or warranty claims.
• Ensure all activities comply with local codes, company standards, and safety regulations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of site superintendent experience in high‑volume single‑family or townhome construction.
• Proven ability to manage multiple residential projects simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, trade scopes, and local building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret IFC drawings, site instructions, contracts, and safety documentation.
• Journeyman‑level carpentry experience is a distinct advantage.

What we offer

• Base salary of $110,000 CAD plus performance bonuses up to $35,000‑$40,000 annually.
• Company vehicle or $1,000 CAD monthly vehicle allowance.
