Site Safety Leader

About the role

We are seeking a Site Safety Leader for our Winnipeg office to drive health and safety performance on construction projects. The role involves visible field presence, coaching teams, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence on site, model safe work practices and enforce company safety expectations.
• Partner with project managers, superintendents and subcontractors to integrate safety into planning and daily execution.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations covering fall protection, scaffolds, excavations, equipment and housekeeping.
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
• Ensure permits, equipment certifications and training records are current and available.
• Communicate safety alerts, lessons learned and regulatory updates to the workforce.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in occupational health and safety, construction management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5 years of progressive safety experience in commercial, institutional, industrial or civil construction.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification and valid WHMIS, fall‑protection or working‑at‑heights training.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel between project sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Procore (asset).
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
• Experience conducting inspections, leading investigations and preparing safety documentation.
