Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to support a leading financial institution in Toronto. The role is hybrid, combining on‑site collaboration with remote work, and focuses on building and maintaining robust, automated database and cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, upgrade, patch and tune Microsoft SQL Server across Development, QA, Production and Disaster Recovery environments.
• Design and manage SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication, backup and recovery solutions.
• Deploy and operate Azure services including Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, Monitoring, Backup and Disaster Recovery.
• Automate infrastructure using PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack and related IaC tools.
• Create CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub or Jenkins for database releases and platform changes.
• Develop automated scripts for provisioning, patching, upgrades, health checks and disaster‑recovery validation.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, Security and Application teams to deliver end‑to‑end automated solutions.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree.
• 8–10 years of experience as a Reliability Engineer.
• Experience in financial services environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across SQL Server, Windows, networking and infrastructure components.
