Site Lead – After‑School Program (York Region)

About the role

The Site Lead will oversee BGC York Region’s after‑school program for children ages 6‑14 across three school sites, ensuring a safe, engaging, and well‑organized experience.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and delivery of the after‑school program, aligning activities with Ontario’s guidelines.
• Manage program spaces, equipment, and supplies, maintaining cleanliness and safety.
• Oversee Program Coordinators and volunteers, handling registrations, attendance, incident reports, and mentorship.
• Supervise participants and staff, respond to critical incidents, and enforce safety protocols.
• Handle administrative duties such as attendance monitoring, parent communication, inventory control, and snack preparation.
• Communicate with parents, school principals, and community partners, and address policy enforcement and conflict resolution.

Required profile

• Degree/diploma or pursuit of post‑secondary education in Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth Care, Social Services or a related field (mandatory).
• Experience working with children aged 6‑14 in a structured environment.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR‑C certification (required) and ability to pass a police reference check.
• Flexibility to work after‑school hours, PA days, and occasional evenings.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
