SET Instructor – Childcare Training Program

About the role

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a dynamic SET Instructor to deliver its Childcare Training Program to adult learners. Working under the Continuing Education Officer, you will create an engaging learning environment that supports the professional development of participants.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess instructional sessions for the SET (Childcare) curriculum.
• Apply TESL Ontario standards and Canadian Language Benchmarks to ensure high‑quality adult education.
• Maintain accurate records, attendance, and certification documentation.
• Collaborate with board staff to align program delivery with board policies and procedures.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to learners throughout the term.

Required profile

• TESL Ontario Certification or equivalent Ontario teaching certification with recognized ESL qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of adult education principles, ESL instruction, and board policies.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities.
• Commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Required skills
