Sessional Lecturer – Culinary Practice for Health

About the role

The University of Toronto Scarborough seeks a qualified Sessional Lecturer to teach FSTC14H3 – Culinary Practice for Health. This half‑course blends culinary arts, nutrition science, food literacy and medical education to equip students with practical skills for preventing and managing diet‑related health conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lecture content on evidence‑based culinary and nutritional practices.
• Develop, administer and grade assignments, tests and exams.
• Create and supervise hands‑on kitchen laboratory sessions.
• Maintain accurate grade records and submit deferred exam documentation.
• Hold regular office hours to support student learning.

Required profile

• PhD in Food Studies or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level.
• Record of scholarly publications in food studies or related fields.
